Lawrence Raphael Keels is an author African-American and Trinidadian descent. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and spent the larger part of his adolescent and teenage years in a small town of is it Laurens, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Laurens District 55 high school. After graduating from high school, Lawrence joined the active duty army at the age of seventeen. He served in various parts of the world, including Germany, Korea, Kuwait, and Iraq, numerous medals and accolades during his service. He received his first college degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage. After retire from the army in 2004, worked as a substitute teacher and on 2006 he returned to college at the University of South Carolina, where he studied to be a middle school teacher. Upon completion, he taught history and mathematics in middle school from 2010 to 2020. Lawrence always had a vivid imagination and artistic flare, prompting him to write poems and short stories in his past time.
